Nostalgic

It's a dull Saturday morning, as I woke up to see it's drizzling out. No mood to get away from the bed, as I swiped through my iPhone in search of various things. In a very much gadgetized life, memories of childhood flashed through my mind. It's summer vacation and we use to visit our grandma village every year. The house is located at the the end of the street after which your eyes can only see rice fields and Ayyanar temple at a distance.

There's a saraswathi Amman temple next to our grandma's house where we use to sit at the back of the temple premises and play till it darkens or some faculty of our family comes in search of us. The pond behind our grandma's house looked mysterious to me after I heard the story of my brother accidentally falling into it and was saved later.
Everyday morning our breakfast was ice briyani, a local slang that means the previous day rice mixed with butter milk and water sided with pickle or onion. We cousins use to make a circle and my grandma puts a riceball in our hand in a round robin fashion. We gulp it as soon as we can to get ready for the next round.
My grandpa is the most lovable person and always cares for us. We use to play pranks with him and he never got serious with it. I am very sure that I can't see a person like him anymore. My mom is the general executive of the family being the elder sister and everyone respects her. She is a celebrity in our family.
Days go aimlessly and we never cared about it. No weekend fun as everyday is a weekend. We use to check the calendar and very happy to see that the school reopening is at a distance. But as the day goes, a week before the vacation ends, it starts looking grim and the fact that we gottah go back to our homes and the school, hmm, we just dont like that feeling. And when the day comes, everyone's leaving at a different schedule, I know how I was feeling by then, but now I could realize how my grandpa and grandma would have felt. Um!!! Nostalgic!!
